Jade Justice
Age: 30
Time to diagnosis: 5 years
Jade has endured a torturous time with endometriosis; it’s widespread and recurring.
From 13, Jade resorted to over-the-counter painkillers, too often, just to get through the day. GPs didn’t listen, believe or help her. She believes that would have continued for years if it wasn’t discovered, during a back operation, that her mum had endometriosis. Realisation hit: the symptoms both mother and daughter had endured for years were far from ‘normal’.
With her most recent surgery removing much of the endometriosis and the pain, Jade acknowledges that she wouldn’t be the woman she is today if she didn’t have endometriosis.
