Time to diagnosis: 14 years
Bex is a non-stop, energy-rousing, determined and caring agent for actors. She works long days, often masking the severe pain she’s in usually two weeks out of four. Bex knows first-hand the difference talking openly can make: by running the London Marathon last year she not only raised £7,000 for Endometriosis UK, she alerted two of her clients, both under 25, that they have endometriosis.
Bex is now on a waiting list for an operation but doesn’t know if she’ll go ahead – remembering the difficult recovery from the last operation. In the meantime, she’s careful with her diet, uses alternative therapies and takes a worrying amount of painkillers; all so she can be free enough to do the job she loves.
