The Challenge...

The developer bought a disused pub to convert to a luxury home. While the interior space is very contemporary, the external character of the building has been retained.

To maximise the value of the property a comprehensive multi-room entertainment system was installed together with a projector based home cinema and lighting control system.

Entertainment - iPod

An iPod can be docked on the ground floor and then played in any room on the system. The track, artist and album information is displayed on small LCD keypads in each room making it easy to choose music even though the iPod is physically located elsewhere.

More docks can be added as required. When docked the name of the iPod is displayed on the screens. Different iPods can be played simultaneously in different rooms. This makes it ideal for showing the property as it doesn’t require an expensive music server to be installed from the outset.

The entertainment system also distributes Sky, radio and DVD to each room.

Home cinema

Home cinemas are a great option for a family home. The adults can catch up on movies in the evenings without the hassle of finding a baby sitter; the kids can watch it with their friends at the weekends.

The cinema features a 2.8m wide fixed screen together with a ceiling mounted projector. The fibre optic ceiling adds to the fun, and makes the most of a low ceiling.

Lighting Control

The property was furnished and completely decorated before being presented for sale. We set up lighting scenes to make the most of the décor and so that they were easy for the estate agent to turn on and off. The touch panel by the front door was set up so that a single button set suitable scenes throughout the property and another button turned everything off at the end of the viewing. The touch panel was then customised to suit the final purchaser.

Easy Sale

The property was sold before the launch event, partly due to the cinema. The developer was delighted with the outcome and is now looking at installing similar levels of equipment in future developments.
